Critical Mass brings together artists, performers, musicians, dancers, writers and thinkers whose works seek to divert established pathways and political narratives. Critical Mass is a festival within a festival - a place for decentring, agitating, questioning and dissolving the boundaries of form.

Jîyan opening

Jîyan (meaning 'life' and also the stem of the word 'jîn’, ‘woman' in Kurdish) is an immersive exhibition exploring the sacred, life-giving connection of womxn to nature. This is a multi-sensory experience with performances and workshops running over the weekend, produced by Viriditas; dancer/ choreographer of Kurdish Celtic origin, Leila Lois and photographer/ curator, Michaela Meadow.

The opening features live music, dance performances and a private viewing. It will immerse you in the works with dreamy live harp by Amy Earl and a performance by Everything Dances. Enjoy drinks and nibbles of a foraged theme while you preview the exhibition. The event will open with an Acknowledgement of Country facilitated by Indiah Money, Wiradjuru artist.
